Ok, so I don’t like using the F word but I needed your attention!
So, tell me what are you doing with your life?
Are you drifting through day by day, month by month, year by year, decade by decade?
I watched an episode of friends today (the one where Ross and Rachel were on a break) and realised it was years old!!!!!!!
So if it's years since they took a break, what have you been doing since?
Raising a family?
Getting educated?
Working your way up the career ladder?
Travelling?
Building a business?
So are you happy? Do you think you’ve “Made it”? Or do you still have things that you want to do?
What will your life look like in 2040? That’s right, that’s the same amount of time ago that Ross and Rachel took their "break"
You know that you need to make some changes. You know you need to give it some focus.
It is something that you should prioritise.
I always write my goals down as you’re 80% more likely to achieve them
You’ve heard of a vision board right? This is LITERALLY just a picture of the things you want to achieve. It is a cool way to get down on paper the things you want out of life. Whether you do a vision board in Canva or on a whiteboard or use a tatty old bit of paper and just write a good old fashioned list, it doesn't matter.
Creating a vision for your future should be fun
Sometimes it might be scary committing things to paper, telling people or even just knowing you now have some work to do.
But what more do you want out of life? It takes work, focus and consistency to achieve most of the things that are worth having in life
This year I achieved 80% of the things I set out too – what about the other 20% you might think? What about the 80% I DID achieve? What about all of the effort I put in knowing that I’d made myself accountable to ME to make my life better?
What about the clients I had depending on me?
What about my family depending on me?
What about my legacy?
What about if something happened to me?
What would I leave behind?

So how do you create amazing goals that will accelerate your now MASSIVELY?
Here’s my 5 step process to setting your goals:
1. When setting goals remember your reason why.
Why is it that you do what you do? For your family? A better life for you? Helping others? Financial gains?
2. Review where you are
This may involve digging out some old goals and amending them or writing some totally new ones and remember to look at your whole life. I tend to clump my goals into categories such as finances, education, relationships, fun and business.
3. Remember your BHAG!
So you’ve heard of SMART but what about BHAG (Big hairy audacious goals!). Make some of them SO BIG that you’ll frighten yourself senseless. Remember that we overestimate what we can do in a year but underestimate what we do in a decade.
4. Make them achievable
Set your goal and then the next step is to work backwards from that date. How are you going to make it happen? Work backwards in months/weeks/days and break the goal down into manageable chunks.
5. Review them often
Review your goals at least once a month to keep them at the forefront of your mind. Some people set a certain amount of goals, say 10 so they can absolutely bring them to mind when they want to.
Conclusion
Now that you know how to create your own goals, why not start working towards one of them right now. You'll be amazed how much you can achieve once you realise what it is you want to do.
